Vocational Training Course "Forestry"

ECO’s “Forstliches Fachgespräch” is a three- to five-day workshop for consultants who feel they need some basic first-hand knowledge about forestry. By way of presentations, informed discussions and personal encounters in the field, participants of all disciplines gain a sound theoretical background in forest economy, forest history, and forest politics.

Clients appreciate the condensed and efficient output of the courses as much as the personal and relaxed atmosphere of ECO's headquarters in the Knuellgebirge.

The target group is principally open (professionals in forest-related business environments, but without a formal qualification in forestry), but in practice made up mainly of development-cooperation personnel (both of donor agencies, and partner organizations in developing countries).

Applying a modular set-up, the course-structure reflects all relevant fields of forest science (forest policy and law, forest economics, administration, management planning and silviculture, harvesting of forest products (including transport), nature protection, wildlife management, forest protection (pest-control, suppression of wildfires, etc.).

Participants are free to determine the focus of the course according to their specific needs, and select the appropriate modules. They are provided with a complete set of course material.
